Hour Glass Timer for Law Office
Time is money! This hour glass timer is made in the North of England, each one using original wooden parts from old cotton mills. It makes a highly original gift to any fee-earning professional.
For 30 years the Marsden family have been buying up old industrial artefacts such as bobbins and lasts from factories and mills that have closed down. At their farm near Manchester, they cut, clean, drill, wax and polish the re-usable parts of the artefacts then, using imagination and skill, turn them into unusual products.
The hour glass they make for Carbolic is 13" tall, and looks fabulous on an office desk or sideboard. Its frame is an original bobbin from the Oldham Spinning Company and is about 100 years old. The struts are made from Northrop bobbins dating to 1939, and come from Coldharbour Mill on the border of Devon and Somerset. They were used to weave wool fabric for military uniforms.
We are told that in Athens, every lawyer has an hour glass on their desk, because it is rude to look at a watch in the presence of a client. Maybe it will catch on.
