Terms & Conditions
1. Management of the Carbolic websiteThis Carbolic website is managed by CSBC Ltd ('CSBC'), Silverbeck Farm, Jumps Road, Churt, Surrey, GU10 2HL. 2. Browsing the Carbolic website2.1 CSBC grants you a licence to access and use this website, but not to make commercial use of any of the content, nor to collect or store any of the product descriptions, images or prices, either manually or using systematic data-mining or data-gathering techniques without the express written permission of CSBC. 2.2 All of the content in the website is the property of CSBC, and enjoys the full protection of UK and international copyright law. 3. Transacting with CSBC3.1 When you submit an online, telephone or hard copy order to CSBC, that submission constitutes an offer to purchase goods from CSBC. On acceptance of the offer by CSBC, your contract is with CSBC, and your statutory rights are with CSBC. 3.2 CSBC's policy is to charge a customer's credit or debit card only when all goods relating to the charge are packed and ready to be dispatched. This policy is designed to avoid the situation in which your card has been charged but goods become unavailable, and also to ensure that the period between the time when your card is charged and the receipt by you of the goods is as short as possible. CSBC reserves the right to make an exception to this policy - that is, to charge in advance of readiness to dispatch - in circumstances where it is obtaining goods especially to meet your order, and wishes to be sure that the card transaction processes satisfactorily. 3.3 If the credit card charge is declined for any reason, CSBC will contact you to inform you, and will delay the dispatch of goods until such time as payment is received. 3.4 Ownership of goods relating remains with CSBC until such time as full payment is received by CSBC from you. 3.5 If the goods ordered by you are subject to a tax or other charge when the package reaches its destination, the liability for paying these charges will be with you, not with CSBC. CSBC has no way of knowing what particular customs and import charges may be in force at any time in any country, and makes no allowance in its pricing policy for such charges. For the purposes of customs and other importation charges, therefore, you assume the role of importer of the goods. CSBC will not be liable to you for any delay or failure of the goods to reach their delivery address because of the detention of a package by customs or other authorities. 3.6 CSBC reserves the right to decline orders, or to cancel orders at its discretion. 3.7 CSBC reserves the right to make changes to its website, policies, and Terms & Conditions at its absolute discretion. 3.8 These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. 4. Availability of GoodsMost of the products on the Carbolic website are in stock and available for immediate shipping. Sometimes a product on the website is out of stock, but due to come back into stock. Depending on the stock situation, there are two levels of Expected Shipping Date (ESD):
5. Pricing5.1 All prices are in Pounds Sterling (£); but next to these prices are flags denoting Euros, US dollars and Australian dollars. If you click one of these flags, the website displays guide prices in the relevant currency at the exchange rate then prevailing. For instance, if the £ price is £10, and the exchange rate is £1 = €1.45, clicking the Euro flag will change the price to €14.50, If you order by credit or debit card, your card company will carry out the currency conversion, and will print both the sterling charge and your local currency charge on your statement. Since the exchange rate at that time may be different from the exchange rate at the time you placed your order, the amount you are charged may be different from the amount displayed to you on the website. 5.2 Most of the products offered on the Carbolic website carry VAT. The only products that are exempt from VAT are the books and childrens' clothes. If you are in the UK or another European Union country, you have to pay the VAT charge, and it applies to both the goods themselves and the carriage charge. However the VAT is included in the prices displayed on the website, so you will not have to pay any more than you see on the page. If you are outside the EU - in America, Australia, or Hong Kong, for instance - you do not have to pay the VAT charge. When you put your address into the order form, the system will adjust the prices to show the net amounts. In effect, you will pay a lower amount than that first seen on the website. For instance, if the £ charge is £10, an American would pay £8.50, which would then be converted to dollars at the prevailing exchange rate. If you click on the American, Australian or EU flags on a product page, the system will convert prices to US dollars, Australian dollars or European euros respectively. In the case of American and Australian dollars, the sustem will assume that you want to see prices in these currencies because you live there, and will therefore change prices to net amounts (i.e. no VAT) before doing the conversion. The invoice we send out with parcels is a full VAT invoice (where applicable). CSBC's VAT number is 840704937. Having this VAT number will enable you to reclaim the VAT you have paid if you are a VAT registered business. 6.
