This caricature of Sir Ford North by 'Spy' is one of the celebrated 'Red Robed Judges' pictures published by Vanity Fair. During the forty-year life span of the magazine, it published over 200 pictures related to solicitors, barristers, magistrates, judges and policemen. The prints have always been in demand, but the most popular of all have been the judges in full regalia.
The reproductions offered by Carbolic Smoke Ball are of the highest quality and present an outstanding opportunity to acquire a fine collection for a modest outlay. Half of the subjects in the red robes series were painted by the legendary 'Spy', one by Tissot ('Coide'), and another by a lawyer called John Mellor ('Quiz').
