| An original, reconditioned, Parker 51 fountain pen, with a black barrel.
The Parker 51 is celebrated as one of the finest writing instruments ever made. A triumph of styling, it is also robust, functionally elegant and practical to use on a day-to-day basis.
Production of the 51 ran from the early 1940s to the 70s. Carbolic Smoke Ball draws its supplies from a London dealer who in turn acquired them when Phillips, the UK's main pen refurbisher, closed down in the 70s. Our dealer was approached by the son of the deceased chief engineer, and offered the entire remaining stock for 21,000 pounds, an offer which he accepted on the spot.
Each pen sold by Carbolic has been cleaned, reconditioned, and thoroughly tested. Nibs are 14ct gold, medium thickness, nit if you have a specific requirement for a different type of nib (e.g. italic, thick, thin) we can get it for you.
Subject to availability, we can offer pens for 110 pounds with barrels in Dove Grey, Black, Burgundy and Teal Blue. If, for any reason, you are not pleased with your purchase, you can return it for a full refund within 21 days. |
