| This unusual figurine is a limited edition craft product made in the USA. It has a hard backbone structure (which gives it stiffness and a reassuring weight), and is then 'dressed' in fabrics made from cotton, rayon and wool. The gavel is plastic and the book is vinyl and paper. It's unlike anything we've seen before.
When we first came across it, we could not imagine what it looked and felt like, so we ordered two samples. They exceeded our expectations. The figurine is 13 inches tall, nicely balanced, and the detail is terrific. Look at the chalk pinstripe of his trousers! The gold chain of his watch. And the starchiness of his collar. It isn't a mass-produced product and doesn't feel like one, but nor does it have the homemade feel that you sometimes get with craft products. The manufacturer is a well-respected producer of fabric-dressed figurines of all kinds, and they've done an excellent job on the law. |
