| | Since the time of Queen Elizabeth 1st, London's Inns of Court have had a close relationship with the Sovereign, and many members of the Royal Family have themselves been benchers.This picture was drawn by Feliks Topolski in 1961 as part of a series called 'Legal London'. It records 'Dinner on Grand Day 19th April, 1961' in Inner Temple Hall, attended by the Duke of Edinburgh (Treasurer of the Inner Temple'), the Lord High Chancellor, and other eminent members of the legal profession.Master alike of giant murals and 'small scribbles', as he called them, Toploski was described by Bernard Shaw as "an astonishing draughtsman."
