This illustration first appeared in a Victorian magazine article in the 1890s on the subject of damages awards for personal injury. It shows a variety of different limb losses, and the compensation which plaintiffs could expect to receive for their injuries if they proved negligence. The author of the article averred that claimants could "make a handsome profit margin" since the cost of artificial limbs was far less than the average damages awarded! The illustration is reproduced by Carbolic Smoke Ball on parchment paper, and supplied mounted and framed. A photocopy of the original 1890s article is supplied with the picture. | | Price: £16.17 | | In stock, usually dispatched within 24 hours | | Show price in: | |
